This is the last post… I have the hope that this will be a reality!!!

In this post I am going to write about my experience in the level four.

For me has been a experience very difficult, because always I have trouble with the English. I do not like the English, however I know that it is necessary for my profession.

Although this time, it was not something tragic, I think it could have been worse, this comforts me. In the school I had an English class, this was so basic, perhaps this is the reason of my difficulty.

I think that the fact that the teacher constantly urged us  to we speak English helped us a lot to practice. Not being able to speak Spanish, we were forced to use even the most archaic of our English.

I think that the blogs are a very good way to improve the English knowledge, because every week we write about a different topic, so, this made it more interesting.

I need to improve my pronunciation, my audition capacity, my writing and my vocabulary; I think if I practice more I can improve significantly my English level.

In my opinion to the classes there is not much to enhance them, but if I had to say one aspect to modify would be to practice more grammar, that is always a weak point for everyone in the class, I think.

A news about psychology

Today, this post is different because is about the summary of a piece of news connected to my area of study, it is the psychology.

The news that I have chosen is about the loss of important person in the life. This news has the next headline: “A moment that changed me – the death of my sister and the grief that followed” and it went write by Emma Dawson.

In the account Emma starts telling the death of her younger sister, who was thirty two year old when died. The reason of the death of her sister went the cancer.

Later she tells about the experience of the grief. She says that the grief is as gargantuan freight trains that punch in the soul. Many questions arrive to your mind and the sensation is as if someone has sucked all your being even your oxygen. That these big trains come on the mind is a fear constant.

Speak about theme is very difficult. She explains that she did not speak whit friends because her fear of breaking down. For she went difficult explain to her children that the aunt was dead. Emma said to soon that her aunt was in the sky, that now she is an angel. Although she thinks that this can be confused for her soon.

The word that Emma writes in this news represents well what happens in the duel, so I chose this news. It seems important to look at all the conflicts that have a loss of this magnitude.

Corrections the last blog post of the classmate below

Yesterday I was watching TV when a story appears (T) about censorship of art, denoting exhibitions that have taken place in times of "democracy" (in 1990) These have been highly controversial because they have exposed from fetuses (replicas) photographs of dead babies replicating what was the popular tradition "el velorio del angelito" with current prospects and, of course, plays focused on homosexuality, dictatorship, genocide, among others.

Cinco panes y dos peces

Hi classmates and teacher, today, in this blog I will talk about the book that I am reading at the moment, it is when I have free time.

The name of the book is “Cinco panes y dos peces”. His principal objective is show the experience of a catholic bishop that was prisoner in a Vietnamese camp. This bishop is called François Xavier Nguyen Van Thuan.

I am not sure which genre it is, but I think that belong to the novel, because the author –that who is the same bishop- narrate the history as a novel. He divides the storyline of the book in seven parts. 

First he talks about the five breads, in each one he tell the moments since that he was taken prisoner until that he was released.  In this part he remembers many people, persons important in his life. Finality he tells about the two fishes, in this moment he speaks of the products before of this experience.

Is a short book, is very simple, but for me is very interesting because in the book not only shows an experience from a religious perspective, also from the human experience, it shows us a reset mechanism to intense trauma.

I think the experience of imprisonment and torture is one of those experiences that certainly more brand to the humans. For me it is a great mystery, how they manage to recover from this.

I want have more time for reading this story with more dedication!

Exercises in English

In this post I am going to write about my performance in different English tests about three areas: reading, listening and vocabulary.

I started for reading, and then I did make three exercises. It was very easy, even I didn’t make a mistake.

Before I followed for listening, in this part was very difficult. In reality here I had a low score.

Finality I did the part of vocabulary, I can said that this area it was medium difficult, because sometime I had problem for I understand some word, but in general I know this word.

I think that I have that practice more in listening, because I never I listening music, movies, videos, etc. in English. This is a weakness for me.  

Important person for me

In this post I will write about a person that has marked my process in the university studies. 

This person is Igancio Martín-Baró. Before of I study psychology, I found in my house a book about his life. I was very moved for his history. After was a surprise for me know that this men before has been psychologist. 

Ignacio Martín-Baró was social psychologist and Jesuit priest. He born in Spain in 1930, however when he was a young, in 1959, he travelled to live in a little country of Latin-America, in Salvador. There he was a short time until that he returned in 1966 for dedicate his life to be whit the people of Salvador in the difficult situation of the country; they we was in this moment in a civil war. 

Concurrently he was accomplished your ecclesiastic functions, he studied psychology, there he discovered the social psychology, without know that before he will be a principal exponent of this area. 

I admire to Ignacio Martín-Baró because he was a valiant person. He had not concern for speak and denounce the crimes of the country. He was the voice of many people that had not voice. 

The war go troughed his life so much, to such a level of lost his life in the war. 

What impacted me a lot when I read the book about life It was the phrase: “The challenge is not limited to addressing the destruction and disorders caused by the war. The challenge is to construct a new person in a new society.”

The ecology

In this post I am going to write about the ecology.

To be honest I don’t consider myself a “green” person. However, I think that this is a topic very important in the present society.

The ecology have been the central topic of many studies actually because is a problem that concern to all people around the world.

¡The problem of the land is a global problem! Is possible see this when you look the weather in different part of the world.

The recycling has a role important in this problem. The humans has been produced many litter since a lot time ago. This situation, cause that today the Earth is too contaminated.

Personally I haven not incorporated recycling in my habits, although I make an effort, for example I do not use plastic bags and I do not use products in spray. Also I like care for the water and the electric energy.

Although I considerate the ecology a topic very important, never I has been think in belong to an ecologist organization , perhaps because for things of time.

I think that the problem is very complex, so can be many solutions. But the big solution is that all people take the conscience of this big problem.

In Santiago, my country, there is not lot information. I think that the people and the authorities think that this problem of long time.

 Prohibit the plastic bags, grow the number of bins and give more information, can be steps important for incorporate in Santiago.
